Solgar® Astaxanthin 5 mg contains astaxanthin, a type of carotenoid, which is a natural pigment found in different foods.
Carotenes are found specifically in vegetables and fruits, and beta-carotene in orange or dark green fruits. Astaxanthin is responsible for the intense reddish-orange color of lobster, salmon, and some algae, and is the pinkish-red pigment that gives flamingos their characteristic color.
Astaxanthin is a carotenoid belonging to the group of carotenoids called xanthophylls and unlike other carotenoids found in plants, astaxanthin is more widely distributed in marine organisms, which obtain it through the consumption of microalgae. This carotenoid does not have provitamin A character.
Solgar® Astaxanthin 5 mg provides astaxanthin obtained from Haematococcus pluvialis, a freshwater algae.
Instructions for use / Warning
For adults: take 1 soft capsule per day, preferably with food, according to the specialist's instructions.
