CoQ-10 exists in two chemical forms: oxidized (ubiquinone) and reduced (ubiquinol). In healthy young adults, the conversion of ubiquinone (the most common form of CoQ-10) to ubiquinol in the body's cells is almost immediate.
Ubiquinol is found in large amounts in body tissues that are very metabolically active, such as skeletal muscles, heart muscle, and liver cells. Both ubiquinone and ubiquinol are used to generate adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP is the energy currency of our body's cells. However, as we age, CoQ-10 levels decrease and the conversion of CoQ-10 (ubiquinone) to ubiquinol is less efficient.
How to use / Warning
It is recommended to take 1 capsule a day, preferably with meals or as directed by a specialist. It is not advisable to exceed the expressly recommended dose.
